Cute Card………………..

………….Yes I can make them I just don’t very often but I had to make a card for a 4th birthday, so my ingredients were  stamps – can’t make anything without stamps, pretty papers, nestibilities, punches and a fancy fold I did reach for my DI’s – would be rude not to don’t you think? –  in worn lipstick to ink the edges of the papers etc., also the nestibilities shape.  Choice of stamp was A Little Bit Sketchy range of children by Sheena Douglas .  I just love these very cute children but you can make them grungy too – believe me I have!!! lol.

I chose this stepper card fold for my   main card and customised the size to fit my main image, this is a great shape to make as it is so versatile.  The main image was stamped onto white card and coloured with promarkers, after I cut and embossed the shape with scalloped circle nesties shape I left it in the die and inked the edges with DI which gives a faux layer look.  Ffion’s name (Welsh for Fiona) was added to the back step and happy birthday to the next step, pink and green card were punched and added to the bottom of the card with ribbon and a knot.  Stamps and punches for these were from Stampin’ Up!

I will be playing at the following challenges:

………………For Grungy Monday #15

I finally got chance to play this morning while DH was cooking!! I am going to enter him in Master Chef  but shhhhh don’t tell him – then maybe when he wins I will never have to cook again and have more time to craft – or am I dreaming………Mmmm nice dream!! lol; anyway enough waffle – back to GM the lovely Linda at Studio L3 has transported us back to Tim’s 12 Tags of Christmas 2007  a great technique which always amazes me with the effects can get, pop on over and have a look there is some amazing art over there.

I used DI worn lipstick, dried marigold and vintage photo and archival black, stamps are Fairytale Frenzy Tim Holtz., The flowers  which seem to be my thing at the moment – were cut with tattered flowers die from old book pages and inked with same DI  inks and scrunched up while wet.  I also inked and spritz a piece of tape and scrunched it up as it was drying then frayed the edges.

I am also playing at Tag it On TIO #87 Project Tim Holtz and

The Stampman Challenge #27 anything Tim Holtz

Alcohol Inks….

My card today is for the Stampman Challenge #26 Alcohol Inks and optional sketch, now I was going to use the sketch but as always my work evolved into something quite different – the best laid plans and all that!! lol.   I will list all the products I used at the end of this post.

Core’ dinations card  was used for one background and for the cage and bird which I then sanded to bring through the blue, alcohol inks purple twilight, stonewashed and lemonade were blended with gold fixative for the 2nd background. Flowers were made using the smaller sizes of a nestibilities die and patterned papers and sprayed with water then scrunched up and left to dry – love making flowers this way you never quite know what you will get. Ticket is stamped with Creative Expressions stamp in purple on blue card.  I added a rhinestone to the birds eye and also on the cage.  Finally I have inked the edges of the card with black ink.

Ingredients Used; Ranger Alcohol Inks, blending solution , gold fixative.;Spellbinders Shapeabilities – Bird Sanctuary; Nestabilities peony smallest sizes used;Rhinestones.; Card- Core’ dinations black magic; Stampin’ Up

Creative Expressions Calling Card Challenge

Helloooooo everyone sorry for the lack of blogs lately we have been away enjoying the summer, we have to make the most of it while we’ve got it I say –   I love the summer lazy days reading and if your lucky the sun shines too.!! lol.

I was sooooo EXCITED when my new stamps from Creative Expressions popped through the door recently, yes I have been splashing the cash again on crafting goodies and of course stamps had to be included – after all I am a stampaholic!! This new set 3 plates in total are steampunk/vintage theme designed by Sam Poole, I have a few of her designs now and I’m loving them all  anyway today I have had a play and here is one creation I have completed.

I have used  stamps from all three plates in the set and I will list everything I have used at the end of the post.  Creative Expressions challenge was to include an ATC in the project.

I started with a new Creative Expressions (CE) embossing folder and embossed a piece of core’ dinations card which I then distressed with a sanding block and rubbed vintage photo distress ink (DI) over some of the embossed areas and edges which I glued to my black card blank.  Next I cut a shape from paper with a Nestabilities die and after cutting and embossing inked the edges with vintage photo and stamped a large train in pumice stone DI which is very pale and gives an almost watermark effect for the background  and cogs stamped in  in tea dye DI and lastly the words in archival black.  I wanted this piece to look as if it had come from an old note-book so I used a punch on the edge and curled the edges a little .  Next came the ATC for the background I stamped various small items onto grid paper again in pumice stone DI and inked the edges with DI vintage photo and black .  The Inventor man I stamped onto cream card and cut him out, using vintage photo I distressed him a little I curved the edges and  he was attached with foam pads to the background, the ATC is then mounted onto core’dinations card which I sanded and attached washers and brads.  Finally the Cogs were added all idea-ology from Tim Holtz.

Close up of the ATC  – I love this image I’m thinking there will be a lot more ATC’s made with these stamps!!! Lol!

Vintage Butterflies

Hellooooo – Well I think I can at last say I have returned to normal health wise and thank you all for your kind thoughts, 2 weeks ago when I thought I was making progress I picked up a bug and it was very nasty, not sure where it came from as I hadn’t been out anywhere , I lost a Stone in weight but it not  diet I would recommend!!!!!!

I have changed my blog home, hope you will all find it and that I don’t make too many errors getting everything together, if you want to follow my posts click on the email subscription in the side bar and you will be notified when I post.

It has been ages since I last crafted and I have missed joining in with Grungy Monday over at Studio L3 run by the lovely Linda, I have been popping in to see the amazing art whenever I could.  .  I have followed  link here for Tim ‘s instructions, set by Linda for my tag, I must say my mojo didn’t want to play so I followed Tim’s tag for inspiration, using Vintage Shabby Papers and Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  Stamps used Tim Holtz Papillon.  It has been lovely to get all inky and I hope to see you all soon.

Well I am off now to watch the Tennis at Wimbledon – on the telly I mean –  I have to admit to being a bit of a fan and watch everything I can much to DH horror!! He hates watching sports on telly the only exception is the Olympics.

Bye for now

Edit………. Silly me……Forgot to say that the big tag was stamped onto paper from Vintage Shabby Papers with diamond stamp from TH visual Artistry set as per TH instructions on the link and covered with  paint Dabber Espresso, I also added a strip of tissue tape and used vintage photo DI to tone the colour down.

>My favourite things…..

>I’m so pleased to be able to be back with my first creation in such a long time,  I have missed crafting and blogging so hopefully I’m back to normal now – well normal for me that is!!!!

I have made a Tag to fit in with the Sunday Stamper challenge – A Reason to be Cheerful , I always reach for my stamps and distress inks and of course my fav die cut at the moment is Tim Holtz Dress Form so that is what I have based my tag on and  I have used Tea Dye distress ink and Sage to fit in with The Artistic Stamper – Monochrome plus1 colour challenge. I have only limited supplies with me as I am away in the Scottish Borders on holiday and today it is raining cats and dogs!!! Friday we sweltered in temps of 79F – phew, and so far no scottish midges in site !!!!! lol

Stamps used Vintage Sewing – Creative Expressions and Flower from Paperartsy HP1009.
Tag was covered using Tea Die and the waste from the dress form die, the dress form was inked in bundled sage and stamped with water and then over stamped in same ink.

Sorry picture not very good not sure why, and for the rushed post as this is the third attempt at posting due to weak signal where I am.
